Terms and Conditions for Using the Peasy App
As of April 14, 2025
1. General Provisions and Scope
1.1. These Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) govern the use of the Peasy App, developed and provided by Peasy Music Education UG (haftungsbeschränkt), based in Frankenthal, Germany, hereinafter referred to as „Peasy.“ By registering for and using the app, you agree to these terms.
1.2. These T&Cs apply to all users of the Peasy App, regardless of their residence. Use outside Germany may be subject to country-specific restrictions.
1.3. Definitions of „Students,“ „Teachers,“ and „Progress Data“
„Students“ refer to individuals who have been invited by a teacher to use the app, have accepted the invitation, and created a user account. Students may be minors or adults.
„Teachers“ refer to individuals who use the app to provide learning materials, track students’ progress, and create personalized practice plans. Teachers are responsible for the data and content they input.
„Progress Data“ includes all data collected through the app that documents a student’s practice process, such as the total practice duration, time spent on specific exercises, and the distribution of practice activities over specific periods. This data is exclusively available to the assigned teacher and the respective student and is used solely to enhance the quality of lessons.
2. Registration and User Account
2.1. A student can only register after being invited by their teacher. Teachers are responsible for obtaining the required consent from the student or, in the case of minors, from their legal guardians, when entering student data (e.g., name, email address, phone number, date of birth). Peasy accepts no liability for the accuracy or legality of the data provided by the teacher.
2.2. Both adults and minors may register, but minors require parental or guardian consent.
2.3. Parents of minors will receive a notification email requesting their consent upon registration. Without this consent, the app cannot be used. The consent is given once and cannot currently be revoked.
2.4. After registration, students may review and edit the data entered by their teacher, particularly personal data such as name, date of birth, or contact information.
2.5. All users are obligated to provide truthful information and keep their login details confidential.
2.6. Users agree not to misuse the app for illegal activities or disrupt the app’s functionality or other users‘ experience. Uploading or linking copyrighted content without proper rights, or content that violates applicable laws, good morals, or third-party rights, is strictly prohibited.
3. Subject Matter and Features
3.1. Peasy provides a digital learning platform designed to enhance practice progress, primarily for teachers to coordinate and for students to support their learning activities.
3.2. Teachers can provide materials, view students’ progress, and create tailored practice plans. Students receive a structured overview of their assignments, including specific exercises and their progress.
3.3. Features for linking materials (e.g., sheet music, audio files, videos) are currently limited to hyperlinks. Linked external materials are supplementary resources, and the linking user is solely responsible for their content. Peasy does not monitor or moderate the linked material and assumes no liability for its availability, legality, or accuracy. Users must ensure that linked content does not infringe on third-party rights.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1. Users (especially teachers) may create exercises within the app and assign them to students. These exercises can include titles, descriptions, and hyperlinks to external content.
4.2. Users (especially teachers) are solely responsible for ensuring that shared content does not violate third-party rights and complies with applicable laws. Only content for which the user has the necessary rights may be uploaded or linked. This includes adherence to copyright laws, data protection regulations, and other legal provisions. Peasy assumes no liability for the legality of shared content, including linked content from external sites. In case of violations, the user shall indemnify Peasy against all third-party claims.
4.3. Students‘ progress data, such as practice times, total duration, and daily activity, is recorded within the app and made available to the respective teacher to track learning progress and improve lesson quality. Teachers cannot access data unrelated to the practice process (e.g., coins, levels). Progress data is visible only to the teacher and the respective student within the app and will not be shared with third parties.
